Our holiday began today with an early morning flight to New York. We shipped our bags for the cruise ahead of time so we each had just one small bag to check which made the airport experience much more pleasant. After a smooth flight we rode into Manhattan with a taxi driver who must have a death wish. Interesting guy and a very aggressive driver.
I worked on a new canvas - Texas Armadillo - (pictures to come) that will be made into a pillow for the ranch.
We are going to have dinner here, at the Hotel Carlyle, tonight. The food is always fabulous and the people watching is great.
The weather is beautiful, in the 80's during the day and will be around 70 tonight.
More as it happens.....

The title of this needlework canvas is Safe Landing. I just finished it and sent it off to be made into a pillow. I stitched him while Alan was in the hospital. His cheeks are needle felted and very dimensional. It will be at least two and maybe three months before I get him back. The colors seem very muted on my screen. The work is brighter IRL. His eyes are black beads and he has a real bell around his neck. I picked out beautiful trims for the pillow. I'll update when I get the pillow back.
I initially thought I would create a blog entitled "From My Kitchen" because many of my interests are focused there and I often exchange recipes and tablescape ideas with my friends. But then I knew I would want to share other things like pictures of my grandchildren, travel commentary and pictures, or whatever.
So whenever or whatever I blog....it will be.....With Love.
